JEAN-MARC THEVENET

Jean-Marc Thévenet, born July 16, 1955, is a publisher, comic strip scriptwriter, television producer, exhibition curator and former director of the Angoulême Festival (1998-2006).

His career in the automotive industry began in August 1964, when he graced the cover of L’Automobile magazine (issue no. 220), posing next to engineer Carlos Chiti’s copy no. 1 of the ATS. In 1987, he published “1960, les années de chrome” (1960, the chrome years), a tribute to a decade in which the automobile, in all its forms (cinema, fashion, advertising, major works, etc.), was buoyed by the enthusiasm of the Trente Glorieuses.

After a wide detour into the world of comics, he returns to the automobile for a fine work to be published by Hachette/EPA in 2019 with historian Patrick Lesueur, “L’Art Automobile”, a biographical book on the career of Maître Hervé Poulain, Honorary Chairman of Artcurial, initiator of modern art cars and his iconic auctions.

Since 2020, this work has been part of a European Heritage Days event at the Château de Neuville in Gambais.
