DESCRIPTION
Cellular Portraits by Laurence & Graffensttaden revolutionizes art by blending science and creativity. This visionary duo uses medical technology to transform human cells into fascinating works of art. The result reveals humanity’s inner beauty, while conveying a powerful message about diversity and tolerance. These portraits, exhibited in prestigious venues such as Galerie Kraemer and the Institut du Monde Arabe, captivate with their unique aesthetic. For example, ‘Tous pareils, tous différents’, created with schoolchildren, celebrates equality.
Today, this work is part of a permanent museum collection. In this way, it highlights the interconnection between art and society. The book also explores the artists’ collaborations with Flore Sigrist and Saint-Étienne Yeanzi. It pays tribute to icons such as Jean-Michel Jarre, influenced by electronic music. It also reveals their artistic approach, which questions human identity and the role of science.
Through their creations, Laurence & Graffensttaden invite us to reflect on our world. Their work establishes a profound link between often opposing disciplines. Cellular Portraits by Laurence & Graffensttaden offers a unique immersion in a project where art and science meet to reinvent our perception of human beauty.

about the author
She’s Laurence Auzière, born in 1977 in Amiens, a cardiologist and Brigitte Macron’s eldest daughter. He is Matthieu Gasser, pseudonym Graffensttaden, born in 1977 in Illkirch-Graffenstaden, Bas-Rhin, artist and project manager in the local civil service. They met and fell in love with each other in the 90s during a stay in the mountains, lost touch, and each led a busy life (marriages, children, careers…) before reuniting in 2022 and entering into a civil partnership in February 2023. Laurence is deeply joyful and her energy is incredible. Matthieu is a perpetual dreamer whose desire for fulfillment is infinite. Together, they exude a conviction for life that transcends all boundaries. Their youthful love and reunion are worthy of a fairy tale. The celebrity magazines were not mistaken. But it’s their art that touches our sensibilities and our hearts.
